Your PDF files never leave your browser

This is the core of how PDF Editor is built: when you open a PDF in the editor, it is loaded, rendered, edited, and exported entirely on your own device using JavaScript running in your browser (via PDF.js, Fabric.js and pdf-lib). The document is not transmitted to our servers as part of normal editing — there is no upload step in the editing workflow, so we never receive, see, or store the content of your PDF or the edits you make to it.

What we do process on the server

Our server hosts the static application (the HTML, CSS and JavaScript that make up the editor) and a simple contact form. If you submit the contact form, the name, email address and message you provide are sent to our support mailbox so we can respond to you. We do not use that information for marketing and do not sell it to third parties.

Cookies and local storage

The editor may use your browser's local storage to remember in-progress edits (such as page order and annotations) so you don't lose work if you accidentally reload the page. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. We use a session cookie only where strictly necessary, such as to protect the contact form against cross-site request forgery.

Analytics

If we use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate traffic (for example, page views), we do not use it to identify individual visitors or to inspect the contents of any PDF you edit.

Data retention

Because PDFs are processed in your browser, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. Contact form submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond to your message.
